Stannington Training Band
Our aim is to provide a friendly, fun and inclusive environment in which to enjoy playing music and lay the foundations for the next generation of brass bandsmen and women. Several of our players have progressed to other contesting bands in the area including our own senior band.
We rehearse on Sundays at 6.00 - 7.15 pm at the Church Hall, School Lane, Stannington and we welcome all comers - beginners, improvers and returners. We are therefore a diverse group of youngsters and adults of varying abilities.
We have an enthusiastic and talented conductor who selects interesting and fun music which we play at various events throughout the year with new pieces added at regular intervals. There's always something for everyone to get their teeth into and to suit most tastes. The less experienced players can benefit from the support and guidance of the players from Stannington Brass Band who attend our rehearsals.
There are opportunities for individual players to volunteer for performing solos.
We ask for subs of £5 per month to help cover the cost of the room, music etc. The first one is free!
If you are interested in joining the Training Band or want to make a booking, please contact Lorraine Dyson on 0114 233 2821 or trainingband@stanningtonbrassband.org.uk for more details.
